Mount Compass Fertilisers Blending
Choosing the Right Fertiliser
Selecting the correct fertiliser is of paramount importance to maintain the maximum yields from your soil and crops.
Fertiliser blending is a process that allows multiple products to be blended together to meet your soil and crop requirements. At Mount Compass Fertilisers
our agronomist can take your soil sample, allowing us to then blend the correct fertiliser for you. We will even come and spread it for you with our specialised spreader.
Most straight fertilisers contain only one or two essential nutrients. A simple example being Muriate of Potash contains a potassium analysis of 50%. There are only a select number of straight fertilisers available. So when it is necessary for you to have combined nutrient requirement like that of nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, sulphur, magnesium and a trace element requirement, fertiliser ‘straights’ have to be blended to meet these nutritional requirements in one fertiliser product often referred to as a blend.
In the right proportion, the blend must provide:
Major nutrients: nitrogen (N), phosphorus (P), potassium (K), sulphur (S), calcium (Ca), magnesium (Mg)
Trace nutrients: copper (Cu), cobalt(Co) zinc (Zn), manganese (Mn) boron(B) among others.
This allows for the efficiency, cost benefits, and convenience of a single-pass application.
